St Marys Greensborough Junior Football Club

Burra News - 27 July 2010

Dear Members,

I hope you’re all well.

With now only two rounds to go in the home and away season, we wish all teams that are trying for a finals spot all the very best.

This year we are proud to announce that our club has conducted itself in an exceptional manner which has also been mentioned to me by the League.  I trust that all members behaviour will continue to be of the highest standard for the remainder of the season, as we are all representing our great club.  We done everyone.

Our under 10 Black side had a 25 point win on Sunday against Richmond.  A great result for the boys who are 3rd on the ladder.  They are away this week against Doncaster who are 4th in what will be a great game.  This will be a tough game, but a good test for the boys leading into the finals.  Good luck fellow, playing great footy.

Under 13 Gold team had a good 22 point win on Sunday against Kew.  Two games outside the four have a good chance on Sunday to notch up another win.  Playing away against Camberwell will be a great game and hopefully they’ll come away with the points in what has been a good season for the boys.  Good luck on the weekend fellows.

Colts 1, is going to come down right to the final game.  Our boys are still on top of the ladder but only by percentage in a very close competition.  The top four sides are all on 40 points and the 5th and 6th teams are on 36 points.  This week they are at home in what will be a good test for the boys and hopefully cement their spot to play finals.  Good luck guys, great season so far.

With mixed results after 14 rounds, all players need to stay focused, train hard & most importantly enjoy your footy.

Raffle Books

All raffle books that have not been returned must be  handed back to your Team Managers this Sunday, sold or not sold.  This must be finalised as the draw will take place at next Friday night’s dinner dance.  Thank you all for making the effort in selling these tickets.

Call to Arms

One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. The Call to Arms campaign raises awareness and $$ to help fight cancer in men.  As a club we wholly support this great initiative and have planned our “Call to Arms” day this Sunday 1st August.  We are asking all players and team officials to help tackle cancer by wearing a yellow arm band and all to donate a gold coin at all of our matches on this Sunday.  Your Team Managers will have a collection box for all donations.

Don’t forget to get along and support our senior club. All kids in club colours will receive a free hot dog and a drink which will continue for the remainder of the season.

The website has now been updated with all the weekends results, go to stmarysfc.org.au & click on your team to get all the latest news.

Good luck to all our teams this weekend.

“Go Burra”

Regards,
