Round 1 - 2/4/2006 St Mary's 7.9.51- v - Preston 14.6.90

Great effort today from all the boys. They started the first quarter with some great team work around the ground and at the end of the quarter. Trailing by only a few points, doing the same in the second and last quarters, beaten in the third quarter the boys found it hard to peg back the score.  Showing great potential for the season ahead, well done boys .

Round 2 - 9/4/2006 St Mary's 7.6.48 - v - St Damiens 4.5.29
Great effort by all the boys around the ground with a much improved effort in the third quarter this week. Some great hard tackling, dominating defense and our forwards finished off the hard work the centre line had done.  An all round effort and hard to single out any key players throughout the game.  Now the monkey is off our backs with our first win we can look forward to the Easter break.

Round 6- 14/5/2006 St Mary's 4.8.32- v - Banyule 4.7.31
With the wet conditions we jumped away in the first 1/4 only to have Banyule come back hard in the next 3 quarters.
In the last minutes of the game (my heart stopped) we were leading by 1 point, and with the spirit the boys have had all year, fought hard and came away with the win, well done.

Round 7- 21/5/2006 St Mary's 9.7.61- v - Kew 3.4.22

With a slow start to the game it looked like it would be a close contest after Zubrick came off with a saw leg, through hard work and desperation the team stuck together and crept away with a comfortable 5 goal win.

Great to see Marcus Mastrolorito play his best game and Nathan made a big difference down the backline,  well done to all the boys .

Round 8 - 28/5/2006 St Mary's - v - Preston
A terrific effort today from all the boys with a 7 point win against a tough Preston, sticking to our style of football we looked the better side all day.

In the last five minutes of the game Luke Corolla came off with a fractured arm after playing a big part in our win, have a good recovery Luke and see you on the field soon. Well done boys.

Round 9 - 4/6/2006 St Mary's - v - St Damiens

An early morning start, the boys got the jump on St Damien’s in the first quarter to cement a good lead, showing great teamwork working together.  St Damien’s tried hard but couldn’t get past our strong backline with Archie having a great game.  Josh also kicking 3 Goals and our on-ballers made it a enjoyable game to watch. “Keep up the good work boys’’

With no interchange today and 3 players missing we all knew everyone would have to work hard. And to all the boys credit they did. A hard SFX team

didn’t give in easy, but with a change in the style of football, we played to adapt to the umpiring we received. The boys concentrated on their football and truly showed that they can be a great team . Well done once again.

With a slow start to the game we got ourselves out of trouble in the last quarter. Park Orchards wanting the footy more than we did, a big thanks to our back line holding them to a low score, a good effort but can be improved ……

In the muddy conditions the boys tried hard but only to be beaten by a better team on the day, with the first 3 quarters we were still in it but Banyule ran away in the last.

Great to see Jarrod have a good game and Callum played his best game this year … thanks to Christian scoring our only two goals.
