Round 1 - 2/4/2006 St Mary's 5.8.38 - v - St Damians 9.5.59
St Damians got the jump on us in the first quarter and we went in at quarter time 4 goals down. From this point on we matched them and if not for some inaccurate kicking we might have snatched a win. Our tackling must improve and we will improve as a team at the season progresses. well done after quarter time!

Round 2 - 9/4/2006 St Mary's 3.4.22 - v - Doncaster Heights 8.4.52
Once again we got off to a slow start and picked up as the game went on. We managed to be within 2 goals at three quarter time, but we failed to take the momentum in to the last. We still have a lot to learn, but it will come together if we keep working. Good 2nd and 3rd quarters today - but it is a 4 quarter game!

We had three really good quarters today and our best was probably the last. If we'd kicked accurately we would have won by 10 goals, but we kept at it right to the end. Our endeavour was great and we started to show glimpses of what we can do. Well done boys! I was proud of you today.

It was a gutsy 4 quarter effort in tough conditions. The opposition threw everything at us, but we didn't let them intimidate us. We kept the pressure on them and played as a team. We can keep improving if we keep working hard.

The big negative today was that we were slow to start and did not put our bodies in for the first 2 quarters. The positive was the way we fought out way back into the game. It was a great effort to come back the way we did but we have to learn to play 4 quarters.

We finished with 17 fit men, but still managed to fight the game out really well today.

Two tough games against the top 2 teams with 1 win and 1 draw is a magnificent result.

This was important win for us. Once again we beat a top 4 side and today we played better as the game went on. They tried to intimidate is be we stood up to them. Great effort boys.

A great team effort today. We played better as the game went on. Everyone went in hard and the results are there to see. The best goal was the one that smashed the coaches windscreen!!

We lost in the last kick of the day yet again. Although we didn't play our best footy today, I was happy with the way we fought the game out. We finished with only 15 fit men, and with a bit of luck we might have hung on. Its a tight competition - keep at it boys.

We had a great second half today. We outscored them and outran them. We proved to ourselves we can beat them, but must realise we can't afford to give them a headstart.
