    What a fantastic effort from all the boys and I mean ALL.  Whilst the way the loss came around was shattering at the time, it is important that we reflect on how hard the boys worked today and how far they have come this season.  There has been improvement in all the boys and they have bonded well together as a team.  Boys, thank you from Darren, Garry and I for a rewarding season. You Rock!!  A big thankyou to Mark and Darren for doing a great job coaching the boys and thanks to all the parents for their suppoer and help, it's been a great year.

    We learnt alot from todays game.  The boys won a close game.  We know we can do it!  After a slow start we kept to our game plan and worked our way back into the contest, we know we can do it!  Finals begin and we will need to win the next 3 games to win a grandfinal the boys will remember forever - we know we can do it!

    Today we realised the benefits of getting off the a good start.  Our first quarter intensity was second to none and we dominated the play and put in on the scoreboard from the opening few minutes, the opposition expected to be tackled by a St Marys player.  The rest of the game was fairly even, however we showed our authority by running the last quarter out to the very end.

    We have organised a huge end of season celebration for this Sunday night for all our teams who are finishing this weekend, including hiring a marque & arranging additional food catering for the night.

    We would like to see every Coach, Team Manager, Player & parents from all our teams who are playing their last game this Sunday at the
    clubrooms from 5.00pm on Sunday, so we can continue the St Marys tradition of getting each of these teams up on stage to recognise their efforts

    What a game.  We were up against a good opposition who we knew were going to tackle hard and put a lot of pressure on our boys.  To our boys credit, they went in hard from the start and didn't let up all day, not allowing Glen Iris to take control at any stage.  We played our hard tackling, never give up style of play, combined with great team work from everyone, to produce a great win.  We're proud of your effort today - Well done.

    We were up against a side today that really came to play football.  It was a hard fought game right to the end, but unfortunatley we came up just short in what was a thrilling finish.  After a slow start, we fought back hard in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, having plenty of the ball and many shots at goal without success, kicking 1 goal and 10 behinds.  Our last quarter was fought out to the end with plenty of running and fierce tackling.  A great finishing effort by all.

    If games were won just on effort, the score would have been different.  Most of the boys worked hard all day against a good kicking and marking side, but in the end it was the marking strength of Park Orchards that proved the difference.  Well done for the effort boys.  Lets work hard at training to correct those issues before the finals.

    Today the boys hit the ground running and set up a great win in the first half of the game.  We had the opportunity to play some of the boys in positions not usually suitable, who sttod up and played admirally.  The best thing to come out of today was the skill.  It was fantastic with great marks and great running plays and the opportunity for some of the boys in positions not usually suitable, who stood up and played admirally.

    A tough game against some of the best opposition we have faced all year which saw the boys down by 6 goals at half time.  The 2nd half saw the boys repsond well to the challenge and outscore them in the 2nd half.  unfortunately it wasn't enough.  We can learn alot from the loss and work harder at training to improve on the little things to ensure we can reverse the result next time.

    Talk about a game of 2 halves.  After a slow effortless first half (by our standards), the boys turned it on in the second half and played the hard, fast football that we have come to expect.  Kicking 4 goals to none in the 3rd quarter, then battling out the last quarter, as Balwyn tried hard to get back into the game.  This was the best all round team performance of the year.

    Wow, a hard fought win against an opposition who threw everything at us.  Our guys have learnt to channel any frustrations and anger throughout the game into the football and using this energy to put a score on the board.  The boys all enjoyed the win and our individual skills are improving each game with some great marks and goals pivotal in our win today.  Well done boys.

    Fantastic win - tenatious, spirited, gutsy, clever and skilled, all words to describe boys efforts today.  Boys first quarter was the catalyst for an enjoyable game.  When challenged our boys responded and kept cool heads when needed in the last quarter.  Now we have tasted a victory like that, we can learn from it and respond the same in future.

    Encouragement: A great captains effort today from Ben Wilson.  On the half forward flank in the last quarter, he had 4 efforts to eventually win the ball to our advantage.

    With the other side having a big height advantage over our boys, they had to work hard on all the 1% to stay in the game.  With good second and third quarters and a fantastic fourth quarter, the boys showed their skills and willingness to go for the hard ball.  Unfortunately their effort didn't transfer onto the scoreboard but it was a pleasing effort none the less.

    Wow, what a great game to be part of - all the boys at some point put in great efforts.  Nice to see some of our training initiatives working on the ground.  Our boys won most one on one contests today and if they didn't our second efforts resulted in us moving the ball forward.  Well done boys.
