Under 15 - Div 3

A loss we didn’t expect, application is important from the start and we didn’t come to play.

My thanks to each of you for your commitment in a difficult season where we didn’t quite jell as a team until late in the year and long term injuries hit us hard to a number of players.

Over the summer you need to do the work to go to the next level of your football careers boy’s .

Much appreciated was the work of Tony Mash, Phil Antolos, John Powell, Victor Stroumous, Peter Van Bael, Bryan Forby, Brendan Bourke, Darren Holmes, Alex Fleming, Ash Freeman and any other parent who I have missed in thanking .

Thanks to Mal & John (U15 GOLD) and Greg Griffiths (U15 4) for their support and laughter and to Chris Freeman & Greg Norden for direction and support.

More importantly thank you to the parents for allowing the boys to play.  I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching them and I got a lot of pleasure in seeing the improvement in many of the boys both in football and life skills, I hope that I have contributed in a small way.

See you during the finals and on Presentation day on the 7th September at 5.00pm.

Another great effort, just ran out of legs with sore boys all over the park.  A good test as to where we have come since the start of the season.  Lets finish with a win.

Four quarter consistent confident effort.  Thanks Macca for stepping up for us.  Our best effort this year, plenty of support, run and willingness to run to space and create.  Lets go on with it boys.  Thanks to John Powell, Victor, Phil, Mashy, Ash Freeman and boundary boy Matt V.B.

A game we know we could have won.  If we back up & support our team mates, continue to improve our individual skills and application, that means attend training, improve your skills and fitness level outside of training and switch on, the results will come our way.

Thank you for the 14 that turned up.

Another inconsistent effort where we let our intent at the ball drop off after half time.  Still 16 men worked hard against steady opposition.  Thank you Tyler.

15 players stood up against 18!

A gutsy, determined win from all the boys.  Finally we put it together and got the result we were after.  Thankyou Lawrence and well done Nathan on 50 games.  All the best to Matt V, another of our brave warriors with a broken collarbone!

Whilst we are competitive, we are letting ourselves dowm with poor disposal and decision making and lack of sustained intensity.  After half time we are getting belted on the scoreboard with easy goals in a familiar pattern.  Lets regroup and work hard to build back the confidence in your fellow teammates.  Heads up and think forward fellas.

 2 things are hurting us, skills under pressure and starting poorly.

If we can improve on these 2 aspects we will go a long way to putting scoreboard pressure on the opposition and forcing them to play on our terms.  A big game this week against a good team who we ran out with 16 men against last time.

Well done to the boys, after a tardy beginning we played 2 solid quarters to put ourselves in a winning position at 3 quarter time.  Welcome to Nick Kosmos a handy addition.

A consistent 4 quarter effort gave us the result we were after.   Let's back up this week.  Welcome aboard Max Rowlands.

Our most disappointing effort for the season.  I can't fault our commitment on the field, but our skill level and decision making is poor which puts us under pressure. We have lost Tom Kielty with a broken collarbone for what looks like 8-10 weeks in an off the ball incident, we hope you get well soon Tom.

Our slow starts are placing us under pressure and we are trying to play catch up.  Being accountable for your man will be the focus this week.  A poor finish took the gloss off some improvements across a number of players.

We started slowly and were always chasing. A better second half where we played patches of excellent football, but our desire to win the ball for our teammates was evident early. The focus going forward is on accountability.

We were undermanned, ran out of legs with only 16 starters.

A credit to each of the 16 who stood up and worked tirelessly for 4 quarters.  This is the makings of a good team.

Thanks to each of the players for keeping the jumper proud and for gaining the respect of each other and the opposition.
