Under 17's - Colts 3

Boys, I'm not sure there is much I can say to make you feel any better about the game.  You all tried and gave as much as you could.

On a positive note, we've come a long way this season and hopefully we've all learn't things during the year. 

Heads up for the bottom age boys - you get another chance next year.

To Mitrovski, Thomas and Hopper - Thanks for your Junior careers at St Marys.

Boys your effort today was a very good four quarter effort.  Giving votes this week was very difficult as we had many good players and you all contributed to this win.

Congratulations to those boys who've had their first ever finals win at the club.

Boys, today was important for you to make finals. Whilst our kicking was a little bit astray, you hung in there and I was please with your 4 quarter effort.

Remember, the season starts all over again and it's ours if we are good enough.

Boys, I know we've talked about it before, but you can't play 3 quarters and expect to win.  For those quarters we were switched on we competed and in fact outplayed them.

Heads up - we can beat them.

Important test for us today and it was pleasing to come away with the 4 points.

Another good first quarter set us up for a valuable win.

Remember for the rest of the season is to remain disciplined at all times.

You worked for each other today and ran the match out.

I'm sure the feeling today was better than the last 2 weeks.

Today we refused to play accountable footy for 4 quarters.  Yes the loss is disappointing, but we will improve from this

Boys, a fantastic result today.  You showed what 22 boys who play for each other can do.  We played team based football, tackled all day and worked for each other.  A really good win - keep working for each other.

It was important we rebounded today from last week and got back to our run on style of play.  We had a very even contribution across the board and was a great team effort.  Keep working hard, playing the percentages and the results will come.

I said it at the start of today, we would find out where we were at - whilst our second half was very compeititve, we can not give good opposition a start like that.  Next time we need to play 4 quarters.  Heads up and we'll get them next time.

First game of wet weather footy and we slowly adjusted.  Whilst we tackled the best for the season and were rewarded by the umpires, there are still aspects we need to work on. We need to switch from attack to defence - too many times we got caught going the other weay.  Good effort - keep up the hard work.

Boys, today you found out what Colts footy is about - putting your body on the line and hard tackling footy.  The game was close all day, you played the game as a team all day.  Keep working hard.

Today started out far tougher than last week and our boys slowly eased our way into the game.  We were up by 20 points at the half way mark and asked the boys to continue the effort in the 2nd half.  A great 2nd half - hardest day ever to give votes.  Boys - a fantastic team effort!

A really good start for the boys.  We talked before the game about discipline, teamwork and our key indicators and they delivered all these over 4 quarters.
